Medicare and Prescription Drugs

Did you know Medicare does not cover the prescription drugs?
How do I get help paying for prescription drugs?

There are two ways to get prescription drug coverage. The first way is a stand alone drug drug plan offered by private insurance companies. This is a single card that only covers prescriptions. The stand alone drug plan will not cover the medical costs not paid for by Medicare.

The second way is through a Medicare Advantage plan. This is a full medical plan which includes help paying for prescriptions, and in addition can also reduce medical costs. Many plans offer additional benefits with dental, vision, hearing and fitness memberships. Some plans even offer transportation, and an allowance for toothbrushes, toothpaste, first aid supplies, vitamins, cough and cold medicines etc.
