In addition, please stay alert for fraud during the #COVID19 emergency. Medicare.com reported this to be a huge problem right now.. An example they used is, “Con artists like to take advantage of people when they’re distracted. So if someone calls you saying that you can get #Coronavirus tests or masks and asks for your Medicare Number, hang up!” Click here for more info.
Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are:
- washing your hands often and for at least 20 seconds
- cleaning and disinfecting your home often
So Centene (Allwell, Ambetter, Centurion, Healthnet, and Wellcare) a Medicare Advantage plan provider have come up with a solution. They announced as of April 1st, 2020 they will waive prior authorizations and member cost sharing for screening, testing and treatment of COVID-19 services. Which means if you have a Medicare Advantage plan with them, there will be no copay’s for COVID-19 services. Does your plan offer that?
